About

Bio

My aspiration all of my career has been to give people the opportunity to self-determine and to use my knowledge and skills to protect them from a legal world that is not user friendly.

I began practicing law in 1980 with Legal Aid. I founded the Knox County Task Force Against Domestic Violence in 1986 which is now the Community Coalition on Family Violence. In 1990, I opened my private law practice and have served thousands of clients, both as an attorney and a mediator. I have been teaching and practicing mediation since 1991, am a Rule 31 Family and Civil Mediator, a Rule 31 trainer, and am specially trained in domestic violence issues.

Recently, I trained as a collaborative attorney, a wonderful blend of law and mediation. If this interests you, please go to KnoxvilleCollaborativeDivorce.com.
